Anything but a card challenge #27 Hit the books

The challenge over at Anything but a card challenge blog is Hit the books! There is so much you can do with this theme!

I used one of the pages in this Prima journal that someone sent me. I like to call it grunge pretty Prima paper, or Tim Holtz meets Prima. The paper in this journal is pretty and shabby and if you know me and my style, you know shabby isn't me. lol 

First I looked through my Prima dolls that I made when I first got the stamps. I narrowed it down to a couple of them. Then I looked through the journal to pick a page that would go with the doll. I picked the grayish demask page. Then I chose the doll that I dressed in Tim Holtz paper in the Travel stash (and yes, I know the paper in the skirt is upside down). The girl is stamped on dictionary paper.

So once I picked the doll and the page I set the doll aside and grabbed the Distress stain in Faded Jean and my harlequin stencil and rubbed the stain over the stencil. I heat set that, then I took some water down white craft paint that I put some in a little spray bottle and sprayed some of that for some drips. Heat set that. then I took 2 of my new VLVS! stamps to use. I used the coffee ring stain stamp with walnut stain distress ink pad (After I stamped I did spray a couple of them to try to get it to drip) I used faded jean distress ink pad with the recycle heart stamp. I then glued the Prima girl down the page using Ranger glue and seal. 

I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do for the sentiment. I looked through through this old children's book I have and saw the first sentence in the Alice and wonderland story in the book Liked it and cut it out and glued it on the page. I didn't think 2 lines looked pleasing the the eye so I cut the next sentence out and glued that down on the page.
