ARC: my April read

This month I read Smoking Seventeen by Janet Evanovich. Its the 17th(duh!) in the Stephanie Plum series.

Stephanie works as a Bails Bondsman for her cousin Vinnie. In this book the bail office is being rebuilt after it was caught on fire in the last book. The entire office(which is all of 4 people, Connie, Vinnie, and Lula and of course Stephanie) have been working in Mooner's bus. When the they were starting to build the new office, a body is found buried not too deep where the bond office was. Then there was another body found, and another. Meanwhile Stephanie has been trying to catch skips, one who thinks is a vampire. and one who put up a bear for his bond. Fun times! On top of that Stephaine's mom is trying to fix her up with a guy who she went to school with. As if she needs another guy to add to her mix(Morelli and Ranger). Oh and Morelli's grandmother put a curse on her.

The book like all the others is very funny. But some parts of the book I thrown in the book, because that's what happens in all the other books,(like cars blowing up). I just wish she would just pick a guy already! ::cough:pick Morelli::cough:: But it was a fun read. And will read 18 and 19 in the series.

My Art Journal page I did was based off the Circus bear in the book. OK the bear doesn't exactly look like the one in the book. I couldn't find a circus bear I liked. lol

The background I used a Stencil that I got from Jean, and used the primary colors of red, yellow and blue craft paints. After all the stencils were done I tool each color and just rubbed it over the page. If the color mixed together all good, if not all good too. The bear is a digi stamp from Birdi Brown. I colored him with crayons. The hear balloons were glitter crayons. The letters are from the $1 spot at Target. I did add glue to the back of them to make sure they stayed put.

the next book Is going to be Buffalo West Wing by Julie Hyzy

It was fun to read your review and see how much you enjoyed the book. The idea of using a bear for bail bond is a hoot in itself. Nicely done, both review wise and art wise.

Wow that is a lot of books to read in a series, they are obviously a good read. Your choice of bear really does look good on the lovely bright background. Enjoy reading the next books in the series.

that sounds like a fun book :) Although I'm guessing the bear in the story wasn't quite as cute as your one!

Loving the background of your page very much. The series of books don't sound like I would like them much, thanks to your fab review I have a good idea what the books will be like. But it is really good that you are really into them and enjoying them. That, for me is why I read I love the suspense, the creations my mind comes up with and the yearning to carry on to the end that a good book creates. Happy ARC Dxx

I've all the Stephanie Plum books and love the all. I get frustrated about Stephanie's love life, too *sigh* I mean seriously, how hard can it be? A delicious looking cop who loves or a deliciously looking bad boy who loves her...? Oh, well...

I love your bear ;-)

I enjoyed the review and your dedication to the author to be following so many of her books - I really must check them out because they must be interesting to keep you reading them. The artwork is so bright and colourful and does make me think of the circus - and I am sure your little bear would wish to be in the circus when he grows up. So nice to read your review.

Good review and the books must be a good read to keep you going through all 19. I like the stencil you used for your background and the colours.

I have wondered about Janet Evanovich's books because I see them everywhere. Sounds like she is fun to read...mystery, thriller and humor....my kind of book. Have you read any of Parnell Hall's books (the Puzzle Lady series)? Adorable art piece for the review. Thank you for the review. - Angela K. Orobko

Love the colourful art work on your journal page and the review of this whacky book. I don't know if it would be my kind of thing, but I enjoyed reading about it. Thank you for sharing x.
