I know its sort of been a while. and a project.

Hi all! I know its been a while since I've posted on my blog...Well I have been posting stuff, but I've been pre-posting stuff on the blog that I've done a while back(ABAC challenge blog, and a swap I am in). I haven't done much as all my craft stuff is down in the basement. We put our house up for sale in Sept. so everything that I had up in my room I took downstairs, so my room would look nice. My closet is no longer a disaster. :P So if I want to do anything I go downstairs get what I want and bring it upstairs. Of course there always something I forget to bring up and have to go back down again. Its kinda tiredsome after a while. Thus why I haven't been doing much. I do have journal pages I have done that I have never taken pictures and posted on the blog. so I might do that one day.

And I am going to be doing NaNoJouMo again this year. I brought up one of my bins of craft paint so I can do it.

I did do a little crafting this week. Over at Anything but a card challenge the mini challenge for this week is miniatures. I did mini pocket folders. I saw this tut on youtube from papercrafter45. these folders are really cute and would make great gift card holders, or even atc holders.

I do not know who made the scrapbook papers, They were from a RAK from Mrs. Rose. :) The stamp on green folder is a Stampbotique. the middle one is from VLVS! and the last one is a digi stamp by Whimsie doodles. I did stamp a merry Christmas stamp on all 3.

This is the inside showing a hotel key card I use for scraping paint around. But I put inside the folder to show you that a gift card will fit. the other side is ATC blanks. Some of left overs from the papers I used to make these.

So there you go you still have a little time left to play along in the mini challenge. then next week starts the new month long challenge. :)

Oct. ARC read

This month I read Delicious and Suspicious by Riley Adams. The Author's real name is Elizabeth Spann Craig, and her real name she writes the Myrtle Clover series(I've been reading those on my kindle when they were free cute series). Anyway back to this months book. Delicious and Suspicious is the first of the series. The series takes place in A BBQ restaurant Memphis, TN. The restaurant is called Aunt Pat's names after the lead character in the book, Lulu Taylor's aunt Pat. The restaurant is family run with her son Ben as the chef and his wife Sara as hostess. And her other son, Seb as restaurant manager. And at the end of the book there are recipes.

In this book a Rebecca Adrian, A scout for the cooking channel comes to Memphis to look for the bet BBQ in Memphis for an upcoming show. After eating at Aunt Pat's she was to go to a competitor to try their food but is later found dead, and some think it was eating at Aunt Pat's. And Lulu tries to figure out who did it to save the restaurant reputation.

The book was okay. it was a good for first of the series. It had some interesting characters like the Grace's(a bunch of Elvis fans who work at Graceland to make sure the tourist don't touch anything or go where they are not suppose to go). Will I read others in the series? I might. I have them on my wish lit on Shelfari and if I find the books at a thrift store or at the library I might pick it up.

Here is my art for the book.
No you are not looking at the page wrong. After I did the background and before I put the pig image on the page I realized the page was upside down. I guess when I was straying I move the page upsidedown to do some drips. Sigh! So I deiced to leave it as is and finish it. :P

This is what I looks like right side up! :)

Next month I'm going to read Teaberry Murder by Laura Childs.

Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Three Continent Blend review

As you guys know I am a buzz agent for buzzagent.com And I got the campaign for the fair trade Green Mountain coffee. The campaign features the Three Continent blend.

A week or two ago I showed you the Buzz kit for the Green Mountain Fair trade certified coffee in the Three Continent Blend, showing you the samples I got to try it and tell you guys about it. Today i'm going to do a review of the coffee.

Normally I do not drink a medium roast and an extra bold coffee, which is what the flavor is. But for this campaign I did try it a couple of times. It smelled good. And it did have a little bitter taste to it. I did add some creamer and that probably died that bitter taste a bit for me.But the flavor was very good. I know a couple of people really did like this coffee. So i woud give this a try if you like the Medium roast of coffees and the extra boldness. I do have  video to upload when I tried the coffee for the first time that i have to upload.

Remember I have coupons good for 50% off of selected Keurig machines at Keurig.com. So if you need a new one or if you never had one and want one or if you have one and you want a back up. leave me a comment here and I'll send you a code. The coupon is good til Oct. 31, 2013(Halloween)

Anything but a card challenge 28 orange and black

Well its around  Halloween and Challenge 30 at Anything but a card challenge blog  is orange and black. I did a 5x7 flat board canvas.

This canvas was giving me trouble but I finally won.
I painted the canvas with a bright orange. Then I took this lace that has spider webs and spider and wrapped it around the canvas tightly. I did tape it to the back with scotch tape. I sprayed with black Dylusions spray. Took the lace off and it was too blotchy so tried to fix it with water down white craft paint in a spray and punchenllia and also some drips. Nope that made it worse. So I took the water spray bottle and sprayed the sprays off. tried it again. still didn't like it so sprayed with water and I kinda liked how it looked. You can still see some of the spider webs there. I had some of the White Linen Dylusions spray ink on the punchenilla so I used it as a stamp.

Next I stamped the bats in clear embossing stamp pad by Ranger and embossed with ultra high gloss clear embossing powder from VLVS! Liked how that looked so I stamped the witch falling and the happy haunting stamps in black Versafine and embossed it in the ultra high gloss embossing powder. I called the background done.

I stamped the prima girl on dictionary page with black Archival ink pad. I dressed her with Graphic 45 last year's Happy haunting collection. I painted her skin with Artist Loft water color and her hair in the pearlesent watercolor also by artist loft. Glued her on the page with the Helmar craft and hobby pva glue.

I made 2 prima girls as I didn't know which girl I wanted to use. So after I finished this canvas I did another one with the other girl. be sure to check out my youtube video on this project to see that canvas. :)

so get out the orange and black and play along in challenge 30! Don't forget to go to the blog to see what the DT is doing. :)

New Buzz campaign for Green Mountain Fair Trade coffee

Well I got another Buzz campaign with buzzagent.com. Its for Green Mountain fair trade coffee again. This time a different flavor of coffee.  The flavor Is called Three Continent Blend. Its a Kelly Clarkson Limited Edition. This year she is doing the fair trade coffee campaign. She traveled to Peru to see a coffee farm down there. While there with the help of Green Mountain coffee developed this coffee blend. The three blends are Sumatran beans which give this the body of the coffee. Mixed with beans from South America for the sweet smoothness and fruity notes And then the Ethiopian beans for the floral finish.

This coffee is an extra bold coffee than what I'm use to. I'm more of a mild coffee drinker. Its also a Medium roast coffee. As I just this package tonight I haven't tried it yet. Be sure to look for a future blog post and or video on my review of the product.

this is what I got in my buzz kit.

3 boxes holding 2 k-cups each of the Three Continent Blend and a coupon book that has coupons for me to pass out to family and friends to save 50% off select Keurig Brewers. And Free shiping for U.S.A only. How cool is that! But the coupon is good til Oct. 31, 2013. So if your looking for a new Keurig....

VLVS! Oct. Challenge.

There is a new  inspiration challenge over at the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog. I did a page last night that fought me all the way. See I moved a lot of my craft stuff (paints, sprays, VLVS! stamps, etc. the newer stuff)from my room to the basement where the rest of my stuff is. We are selling the house so I want my room to look nice and my closet wasn't looking that great. lol So because of the stuff being moved, I wasn't doing a lot of crafting. And it showed when I was working on the page.

I wanted to play with my gelatos, so I liked how it looked but when i sprayed some star punchinella well it looked awful. a black blob. so covered it  with black paint. and wiped some it off. looked okay. then i did something to that, then it looked yuk! It went like that til I got something I liked. and this is it.

So After repainting the page black again. I took a brick stencil and some white paint and sponged the paint on the page. Then i took some tiny star punchenilla and sponged black paint on that in some spots. I then stamped the fence and the bats from VLVS! in black Menento ink(not that you can see them very well but they are there. :P ). Then I was stuck. I wasn't thrilled with the back ground. but I didn't know what else to do. So I deiced to work with it. I was flipping through a magazine and saw an ad for eye drops. I saw them mom eye and was like that can work. Cut her out. I did cut off her arm holding the baby bottle. Glued her on with mod podge(I had it up here when working on another project) I added some drips of B Positive Glimmer Glam by Tatter Angles. Then I got stuck again. I looked at my VLVS! Halloween images, I saw the raven stamp and thought he would look good standing on her head. Then I saw Frankenstein and the poison bottle. And I was like hmmm This scean played in my head. Stamped them all n white cardstock with the black Menento ink pad. Colored the bottle and Frank with my watercolors. Glued them on with tacky glue. Then I needed words. I wanted to find the words in magazines and glue  them on the page. But that wasn't working out so I typed it up on notepad and printed it and glued it. I did outline the rave with a silver gelly roll pen by Sukra and a bic black pen. to make him stand out more. Same with the words.
