Vintage Camper

Everyone has those projects they want to do but they NEVER do them. I have a few of those. Yesterday I did one of them.

I been wanting to make this vintage camper that the Scrappy Camper Sisters did on their very first Ustream show.(you guys know I love retro/vintage(not 20's-40's vintage LOL) stuff) I went to their blog and downloaded their free tutorial and templates to make it(The tutorial is temporarily down.). That was over a year ago! Last Week I printed out the templates. I was saving cereal boxes for the lightweight chipboard. Then Yesterday I sent all day making it. I didn't mean to spend all day, but I got going I didn't want to stop. I did stop to eat. lol

So here it is! Paper I used was Boarding Pass by October Afternoon. I only had 3 12x12 sheets of it and 2 of it was the same paper. The 2 of the same I used for the sides of the camper taking advantage of both sides of the paper. The roof is the other 12x12 I have. The Roof I used front covers of paper pads. Putting on the decorative paper on the roof was tricky and scary. A few bad words were said and almost tears were shred as I put the first panel of paper on the roof. As I said before I didn't have a lot of Boarding Pass papers so if I ruined that paper I was done.  I also used a scrap of a 8x8 sheet from Travel Girl for the wheels and the wings. I had a small package of pearls string flowers sitting by me so I took the 2 flowers and put them on the other 2 windows.

I also used Grunge Board and used Distress Stain in Brushed Pewter for the bumpers and windows. For the windows I cut a pieces of white cardstock. I stamped some Julie Nutting dolls on the paper and colored with Prisma's.  Then I glued it on the Grunge board. I also used Tim Holt's Hitch posts for the wheels. I was going to use brads from the Travel Girl Collection, but I liked the hitch posts better. I added a NV license plate to the grunge board book plate. Which I will admit It was upside down. I don't know how that happened. I tried to get it right side up. lol So I took the sticker off and put it on the right way. lol The 2 pearl flowers I used for headlights.

You can see the roof here I added dewdropps the the roof here. I had a VLVS! image by my desk. I had stamped it for a card I was working on for Submission for RubberStampMaddness. It didn't stamp as crisp as I would of liked for that so I put to the side. I saw it on my desk and thought it would be good on here so I cut it and used Miracle tape to pit it ont he window.

The box is where the mini album goes. As you can see there is no mini album yet. I don't know what to do for that if anything. I just really wanted to make the camper. lol The box is a from Boarding Pass collection it was a shape 12x12 us scallops. Like a big stamp. I cut the scallops off and cut the shape of the box like the template. Glued it on the chipboard. I added some washi tape from Prima. Like I said above the wheels are from Travel Girl also by October Afternoon.

The only thing I didn't do yet is make the Hitch post. I tried making one with a book plate from Grunge board book plate. but it did not stick to the box. So its a stationary camper til I find something more sturdy. LOL

I would make this again. but maybe smaller. I would love to use one of my many 6x6 or 8x8 paper pads. but that would require math and you all know I don't do math and measuring!

3 Cards

I was making a couple of things for submission for RSM (sorry can't show you those) and I went over to the container where I have my 6x6 papers in. I took all the pads out to find something for that. This morning I put them back in. I saw Acorn Hollow from Little Yellow Bicycle, and Thought Oh that be cute to make some fall cards. So I left that out. I made 3 cards from it none of them fall themed. LOL

The ship is from /Viva Las VegaStamps! and the quote is from Artistic Outpost.

The wildflower is from Viva Las VegaStamps! and the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I got a halo from stamping the sentiment so I painted some heart wood pieces by Studio Calico. I painted them gray and then added some pewter perfect pearls.

I had a hard time trying to figure what to do with this one. After testing some things, I stamped this whimsy house from VLVS! on white card stock with Archival ink pad. Used Miracle Tape I glued 2 little potty people from UmWowStudio. This card I'm entering in the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge. The challenge this week is I is for Image only.

Collageing

Yeah I know I haven't blogged much. I've been doing stuff, just not blogging it. lol Though I am still doing videos, Which reminds me I have to upload 4 videos I did on my Documented Life Journal. I fell way behind in that! But I'm almost caught up. (I say that but I'm now 2 weeks behind again! This weeks and Last week to do! Sigh! )

A couple weeks ago my mom had a DR. Appointment, So While she was there my dad wanted something at the Container Store and it was near by so we went over there. I picked up for him and I saw this sales catalog there. I picked it up. The other day I glued 3 to 4 pages together so I can art in it.

I worked in the 1st page in it the other day. A collage.

Here is the 2nd collage page.

Someone is watchin you ATC

over on the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog they have a new inspiration board challenge up for August. Lots of cool things to pull from the board.

I made an ATC for the challenge.

I started with a page from a dictionary. Next I used black craft paint and a stencil I cut out with my Cameo from Monica's Creative Room. After I put the paint on and it dried a little I did wipe some of the paint off so you can see more of the dictionary paper.  I used some white tissue paper and stamped the eyes looking left and the Whimsical boy using black Archival ink pad by Ranger. I glued them onto the ATC with Matte Medium. After that dried I did color the boy a bit with. He blended in to much into the atc. So I colored his skin and popped the stripes out with white color pencil. On a piece of scrap paper I wrote "Someone is watchin you". Cut the words apart and glued them on. Outlined the words blocks with my black Stabilo pencil. I backed the atc on cereal chipboard and edge the atc with black craft paint.

Product review: Tazo Ice tea Conentrates

Today I'm going to do a review of Tazo ice tea concentrates. As you know i am a member of Smiley 360 and I had gotten a coupon to get this product for free to try for reviewing purposes.

The flavor I got was the ice sangria black. The flavors in that are Black tea, Hibiscus flower, orange peel apple, and cinnamon. The tea also comes in Iced Passion, and Icey Peachy Green. The teas can be found in the coffee and tea aisle in your grocery store and look like this(sort of like what your broth comes in when making soups.):

The instructions said 1 part water to 1 part concentrate. when I first made this I did 1 cup of water to 1/2 cup of concentrate. Then I tasted it. It was very strong to me,as I'm not a big tea drinker. You can defiantly taste the floral and the citrus. and hints of the cinnamon and apple. I did add a little orange juice and it really pulled the citrus flavor out.

A few days later I tried it again but this time I didn't add as much concentrate to the water. The taste to me was much better. Not as strong of flavor for me.

Price point for a quart package is  about $6 and change at the grocery store I went to that had it. Would I get this again? Probably not(unless its on sale) as I'm not that big of a tea drinker.

Here is a link for you to a $1 coupon for you to try Tazo Ice Tea Concentrates.

Anything but a card challenge 50: Celabrate

We are in a celebration mood over at Anything but a card! Celebrate is the them for this month.

For my project this month I created this birthday....well I don't know what to call it. It's not a card, as this is Anything But a card challenge blog. The inspiration of this piece was the birthday dice cut that I cut out on my Cameo that I FINALLY unboxed once I got my new desk. After playing around with it as a stencil. I sprayed the whole thing with Dylusions Cherry Pie spray. While that was drying I got out three Julie Nutting doll stamps. Stamped them on book paper with black Memento ink pad(I can;t find the ink pad since!) Colored their skin and hair with Neo color 2's/ I dressed them in papers from American Craft Hip Hip Hooray collection. The tip of the hat I originally used Diamond Stickles, but too much of the background still showed through. So I used some Recollection bling from my stash.

The base if this piece is on a 8x10 mat board. I used the white side of it. When the die cut was fully dried I put foam tape on parts of the die cut and set it on the mat board. Then I added foam tape to the girls. Before putting them on the mat board I thought they needed to be holding balloons. I stamped these hears from Art Gone Wild (from back in the day) from the scraps I used when I dressed the girls. Cut them out and on some of them I used Stickles. Stickles I used are Diamond, Black Diamond,Yellow and Mermaid (that one is Pure Glitz). When those were dried I used some twine from Target Dollar spot for the balloon strings. I glued the balloons to the girls. I attacked the girls to the mat board. Before I attached the balloons to the mat board I made sure the strings were tight and not loose as I put them on the board. I cut off access strings.

I then added some sequins through the board and some bling. I then glued down a sucker that was part of the mod molds from Mod Podge that I used Amazing Casting Resin and painted it with Barn Door Distress paint. and added some pewter Perfect Pearls to.

Be sure to check out Anything but a Card challenge blog to see what the other Designers are doing.

Sadly this is the last Challenge for the blog. :(  I would like to thank Susan for inviting me to be part of this team 2 (or maybe it was 3)y ears ago. Its been fun!
