We moved cards

My mom has been wanting me to make some we moved cards for her. Problem is she has never said how many she needs. But she did tell me she wanted a slot machine on it. lol Luckily I have a couple of them from VLVS! So far I have about 20 of them done. I have a few left to finish up.

I cut some Kraft cardstock into 4x6 postcards. I took the Antique slot machine and stamped in the paper with Flannel gray Ancient page ink page. I stamped both sides of the postcards. I thought I would add a nice border to them after I put decorative papers to them. I The papers I used are Uncharted from The Paper Studio and Here + There by Studio Calico. I cut them at 3 3/4 x 5 3/4. I attached the papers to the cardstock with my ATG gun.

I then stamped on white card stock with black Versafine ink pad Slot Machine Winner  I painted them with watercolors from Artist Loft, the pearlesnt WC from Artist Loft and pearlesent WC from Yatsumo.  After they were dried I cut them out and glued them on to the one side of the postcards. The papers on this side is the Here + There. and where the address will go.

On the other side I stamped out using an alphabet set from Recollections we moved on white card stock. I thought about stamping a house stamp I have bit I found a digi stamp that had 3 houses on it so I printed those and colored them with my Prisma color pencils and used baby oil and Q-tip to blend them. Cut those out and glued them on. I then cut out words " we moved" but then deiced to cut each letter of the word and glue them separately.  It needed something else. So I thought a car. The car I used is an old Stampin Up! set. It does have an antenna and and flower power flag on it but I knew I would cut it off when i try to cut out the car with it, so I just didn't bother with it and cut it off when cutting the car our. Glued that one there and done!

Spread her wings

Viva Las VegaStamps! released 4 new plates for pre order a couple weeks ago. I ordered one plate 1459 (warning that plate though not all bad, it might offend some)  and I also ordered Girl in Princess costume stamp. I got the stamps yesterday at rt Journaling class. When I came home last night After trimming the rubber, I played a little bit and made an ATC.

I stamped the flowers with clear embossing pad and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I stamped the princess, the wing, and the sentiment on a scrap of paper that was on my desk with black Versafine ink pad. Colored her and the wing with Prisma color pencils. I glued the wing to her back. I used foam tape to attach her on to the ATC. I then cut out the setiment and glued that on. I rounded the corners with the WrM corner rounder and used Vintage photo distress ink pad on the edges.

Color my world

I'm back showing you last weeks Art journal page from last weeks class. Since the first Sunday of this month was Easter, we didn't have class that week. We had classes last week and this week ( I have to take a better picture of the page from Sunday's class)

DeeDee is starting to put up videos of the Art journal classes for those who are local that missed a class or two or people from other parts of the country or the world can take. The video classes are really cheap. It is $10 for both classes for the month. That's $5 a class! Got to http://deedeecatron.com/ or UmWowStudio for more information or if you want to purchase(found under online workshops in UmWowStudio).

So to be fair I can't really explain the process of the background we did. but It was fun and I got to work with big kid paints. LOL We used Blicks student grade acrylics. Which is something new for me to use since I have always used craft paint, as it way cheaper than the other acrylic paints. Though I have been tempted at time when at Michael's to get some of the Liquidtex Basics paint when they are on sale, but pass them by. lol .

I used the chunky heart stencil from UmWowStudio. And its kinda looking ugly I will admit. lol But it does get better!

See looking better!

Looking even better with mark making and stamps from Viva Lss VegaStamps!

Then I took it home and added some stuff to the page to finish it off and cut to fit in my journal.

I took a white chalk paint pen and added some dots the negative parts of the chevron. i also tracked a few hearts where the stencil was. The globe Was sent to be me by Dede before I had gotten my Cameo (and no its still not set up yet. i really really need to get a long desk or tables and other organization stuff!  But it is registered!) I sprayed it with London Blue Dylusion spray and then set it with hair spray so when I glued it on the page the glue wouldn't go onto the awesome background and make me cry. I did forget to spray the back of the globe, but it wasn't too bad.  I then found my Dymo label  and typed out color my world with it and stuck it on the page.

Anything but A card Chalenge 45: Fool's Gold

This month's theme for Anything but a card challenge blog is Fool's gold. Metals, gold or a fool. I had a project in mind for this theme, but I couldn't find what I was looking for in time so plan B.

I did a journal page. The page had some left over Teal Dylusions spray on it. I went through my napkins to see if I had anything gold. I did so Glued that down with Claudine Helmuth's multi-medium. The color from the Dylusion's spray was coming up which I knew it was going to do that, so I was okay. After that was dried I sprayed more of that Dylusions spray through a stencil. Heat set it and then I grabbed my glass bead gel and the circle stencil from UmWowStudio . I let that sit over night. The next day I took a gold gel stick from Faber-Castell and went over the edges of the page. Also to it to the circles. I was starting to look like a hot mess.

I then took one of my Julie Nutting doll stamps and stamped her on some gold glittered paper from Studio Calico. cut out and glued her to her body. I was a little ticked that I got glue on her dress and made it worse by trying to get it off. I knew I would have to cover that up. I found a quote about fools.  printed it and cut it up and glued it to the page. As you see I put the author of the quote on her dress. lol I added a bow to her hair band. Its made using a mold by Mod Podge and Amazing Casting Resin.  The butterfly is a wood piece by Prima and colored it using gold Inka Gold.

Don't forget to stop by the blog to see the other Design Team Members are doing. And play along!

Viva Las VegaStamps! April challenge

New month is a new inspiration board challenge over at the Viva Las VegaStamps bog.

I made a set of ATC's for this challenge.

The base is watercolor paper scraps from art journaling class that I had to cut to size of my journal. As you can see from the board one of the colors was pink!  YAY! I painted one scrap a water down hot pink craft paint. and the other I used RazzleBerry craft paint(which is also another color on the board)

After the paint dried I took the black Inktense pencil and drew and colored scallops, half circles, and I checkerboard. While that was drying I stamped 3 Mary Vogel Lozinak images and stamped them on dictionary paper with black Versafine ink pad. I colored them with Neo Color 2's and Artist loft pearlesnt wtercolors.

I cut the images out and put some foam tape on them. Before attaching them to the ATC's i took my white Stabilo pencil and went around the the scallops and the circles. And I also distressed the edges using my scissors and took black paint around the distressed edges. I then attached the images to the ATC backgrounds. I stamped the sentiments on a small scrap of watercolor paper with the same black ink pad.
