Boo!

Happy Halloween! Today I have a Halloween mixed media piece.

I painted one side of the back piece with Ebony Tattered Angles DIY & Decor paint. The other side I decided to use gesso and then the black paint. I then pout white glue on one side then used Americana's Purple Rain craft paint. The set it to start the cracks. I set it aside fr it to completely dry before doing the same thing to the other side. The Frame I did the same but used Americana's Margarita craft paint.

While all that was drying I took  spider Web from UmWowStudio and used Deco Art Metallic Luster in Silver Spark. I glued that to the back of the frame. I used 4 layers of foam tape on the back of the frame painted the sides of the foam tape black. and attached to the base. I took a fly that was molded from Mod Podge Mold Melts mold and used Amazing Casting resin. I painted it with Saffron Yellow craft paint by Americana.

The top I glued a Halloween Token on top of the frame. I put a bat from K&Co border strips where the hole of the token was.

I gessoed a witch chipboard piece from UmWowStudio and used Dylusions Fresh Lime paint using a pallet knife.  I originally wanted to use a stencil with the paint on the chipboard, but Didn't like it so i used the pallet knife and spread the paint on the chipboard. Gave it a cool texture. Glued that down on the base. The bottom of the frame I glued down the fence border from K&Co.

I added glued 3 black flowers tot he right corner. I used one of the Julie Nutting Doll stamps and used Halloween paper pad by Paper Studio and glued it on the right side
.

I painted a small piece of white card with Purple Rain craft paint. and stamped "Boo!"  from Martha Stewart. I added 4 layers of foam tape on one side and painted the edge with the purple paint. I Glued the the other side to the left side of the frame.

To see the process of me making this watch my video.

Art Journal page: We're all mad here

Last night I played around in my art journal. This was a quick page. I didn't film this one.  I used Dylusions paint Vibrant Turquoise, Bubble Gum Pink and Fresh Lime (trying to use these paints up before they get too thick and gummy and not usable. I already had to toss 3 jars out.) I used some washi tape from Michaels. I went around the edges of the page with a gelto. and parts of the Tsum Tsum 2018 calendar I got at the 99 cent store. The letters for from my stash.

ICAD 60

This one does not have a video, I started to film it, then after taking a break, I was working on the card again and thought I hit the button.... I didn't. This one with went through stages...lots of ugly stages. Again I used the colors from the Mixed media mood board.

I used the Desert Turquoise, pink and yellow and white. Kept layering with stencils til I was happy. The yellow I used with some corrugate as a stamp. The Thistle chipboard piece is from UmWowStudio. I used from Deco art Metallic Luster in Brilliant Turquoise. This stuff is so creamy. its great. Glued it on the card, then added a quote.

ICAD day 50

Another day another ICAD. I've been inspired by the colors of the mixed media mood board. The colors are fun and bright. and its got pink! LOL

This one was quick and easy. I used a left over geli print. I love the print. The print has yellow on it. I stamped some stars background (from VLVS!)using gold ink pad. The dripped some pink paint down the card. I stamped the woman(from VLVS!) in the back of an index card. Colored her with color pencils. Used foam tape to attach her on to the card. I found words from my little drawer of sentiments from books I get from goodwill.

Art journal pager: Follow your Bliss

Looking at the Moodiversary board, one of the pictures was a door. Looking at my stash I had some sheets of paper with doors from the Architexture line from 7gypsies. So I thought I would do something with that.

I used the Creative Notebook also from 7gypies in the new Architexture line. I've been using it as a left over journal, for when there is left over paints and sprays. This page had already had the pink and the yellow on it. I added another stencil from UmWowStudio, with Vibrant Turquoise Dylusion paint. I outlined some of the diamonds with a white pen.I used  couple of VLVS! rubber stamps. I then glued one of the doors from the scrapbook paper .I had a piece of the birds on a wire chipboard piece from UmWowStudio. I painted the birds yellow. Glued that doen. I  found a quote and used the stabil all black pencil around the words.

ICAd Day 58

I hope to do a slide show post of the ICADS I did for this year at the end. I have done videos for all most all of them every day Ok I will confess, I have been doing them in bunches ahead of time, then edit and then scheduling them for the day they are to be up. Saves headaches of ding one a day and rushing to get it edited and up at the day they are to go up. I don't think i would be doing it then, takes the un out of it for me, thou that is the idea doing a card every day.

Anyway onto the ICAD!

I used the colors that are in the mixed media mood boards (well as close as I could. ) The background is a like a stencil. Its from recollections, part of their Bohemien collection. I got it last year. It comes in 5x7 pad, i got the pad to use as stencils. It was on my desk so I deiced to glue it to an index card. Added some gesso to parts and then color. I used the giraffe chipboard piece  from UmWowStudio. Painted him up. then stamped a couple sentiments from Viva Las VegaStamps!

Art journal page:Don't waste to be normal

My poor blog has been neglected. I've really been concentrating with my YouTube channel.  I hope to do better to keep my blog up to date.

This month is the one year anniversary for Mix Media Mood board FB group run by DeeDee Catron and Mixed Media Jen. Its a whole month celebration and a huge mood board of inspiration. I'm planning on linking up plenty of projects, but we'll see if I do.

Here is my first project, an art journal page in my junk journal.

I had glued own some medical gaze on the the envelop and picked 2 of the colors of the mood board Desert Turquoise and Citron Green.  I stamped a couple of stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps! I sprayed Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist It's Black through a Andy Skinner stencil. I stamped the Dyan Reavly stamp onto Mixed media paper and colored with sharpies. Glued her on the page and then stamped a sentiment stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps!

VLVS! may challenge: Look Mum

So new month...okay 13 days into a new month,. and a new monthly challenge over on the VLVS! blog. I deiced to play this month. I did a small page in my junk journal. It was rough start, but I liked how it came out in the end.

I had started out by gluing some lace trim onto the envelope(I glued trim to some other pages in my junk journal that day.) a few days before just because. I had also put down some blue craft paint on the page, as I had little of that paint left.  When I went to pick a page to do for the challenge I chose this one. When I first started working on the page,  I used some America craft paint in turquoise on the page. Then added some grays and a stencil. I  did some stamping and stuff, the page was too dark, and I wasn't happy.

So out came the white paint and painted over everything again. I did use big bubble wrap and the turquoise paint, but wasn't getting the effect I wanted. the bubbles weren't showing up. I have this 12x12 sheet of circles from when I used my silhouette I used that with the turquoise and graphite craft paints(both by Americana). While those were drying  stamped the Dali image and the sentiment on a piece of index card. Glued them to the page. I took a turquoise Neo ii and painted his spray can. I liked how this came out much better.

I cleaned the stamp right after using it.I stamped the Wildflowers silhouette and Banksy Dorothy and Toto being searched n tissue paper. I tore and cut them out. Glued them with matte medium. I then used Brushed pewter on top and sprayed water and let the color drip. I stamped the I see no humans on tissue paper. and glued that on the page. I finally used Gelatos in Kiwi and Raspberry on the edges of the page.

Canvas Corp Brand Crew: Hearts will never be practical postcard

Happy Valentines day! Or as I like to call it Happy single awareness day! I tried to make a anti-Valentine's day postcard, but I don't know if it actually is. lol

I started out with the black and ivory postcard from Canvas Corp. It actually comes in a 12x12 sheet with 6 postcards on a 12z12. I gave the postcard a good spray of the Chalkboard Polka dot pink (yes I do have some other colors of tattered angles besides this one But not many. I need more! LOL) When that was dry I used DecoArt Media black gesso and black texture paste with a hear stencil. I didn't get a nice and crisp when lifting the stencil ff the postcard, but I'm going with it.

While that was drying I went looking for anti-valentine day sentiments/quotes. This one is from the "Wizard of Oz" I printed it out and glued it on the postcard once everything was dried. It needed something else So I did some splots with Lady bug Glimmer glaze and black High Impact pint. I also went around the edge of the postcard with the black.

Canvas Corp Brand: Friendship gives you wings

Its almost Valentines day and  though I'm not big fan on the day, I made a tag using Tatter Angles and Canvas Corp brand products.

I got a tag out of my stash. I took my Fiskars cutting mat and sprayed some Polka dot pink Chalkboard and Sterling Glimmer mist by Tattered Angles on to the mat (the smooth side) I took the tag and dragged through the ink. I let it dry for a few minutes. I then took a UmWowStudio heart stencil and sprayed the Sterling Glimmer mist on the whole tag. I wanted the hearts to drip some did, some didn't. After the tag dried completely (I don't have a heat gun anymore, mine died) I did some stamping with a small heart stamp with Picked raspberry distress inkpad. I took a circle plastic canvas and sprayed Its Black Glimmer mist on it. Again I wanted drips and again it failed me. I added some splots with the Java and Polka dot pink.

While the tag dried I had butterfly (from the Tatter Angles Mixed Media Origins wings 12x12) that  had painted with Ladybug Glimmer Glaze that I was going o use on something else. I deiced to use t on the tag.  I had a bunch of heart wood veneers I took one and painted it with the Java Glimmer Glaze. When that dried, I cut the butterfly wings and glued it to the back of the heart. and glued that to the tag.

After looking online for Valentine quotes, I found a couple I liked and printed them. One I used for this tag. I glued it on the tag and went around the words with pen. I duid glue on another tag on the back of this one tio get it more sturdy. The top part of the tag I used some black lace trim that I got in my welcome kit. I stapled it on to the tag. I went around the edge with the black  High Impact paint.

CCB Crew February challenge: hot chocolate hugs

Every month there's a challenge over on the Canvas Corp Brand blog. Its a mood board with images to get inspired from.

This is what I did from this months challenge

From the inspiration board you can see I was inspired by the colors and the hot chocolate. I used my Cameo 2 and cut the ht chocolate cup. The lid I used jack Frost Glimmer mist snd Strerling Glimmer mist for the sleave. I used my fiskars paper crimper (remember  that from back in the day) and crimped the paper. I also used that color Glimmer mist on the steam. The hearts I colored with Island Spring Glimmer Glaze. (there were 4 hearts but one disappeared.)

While that was frying I did the background on my journal page. The journal I'm using is the 7Gypsies starter journal in 5x7 in Kraft. Its a nice heavy cardstock. I first gessoed the middle of the page. Once that dried, I sprayed on the Jack frost Glimmer Mist, Sterling Glimmer Mist and a little pearl Glimmer mist. Letting the drip in some spots.

Once the background was dry, I put together the hot chocolate cup and glued it on the page. I found a sentiment on pintrest, typed it on my computer and printed it. cut and glued on the page.   I added some splatter with the sprays and also some of the white gesso. I finally went around the words with a black pen.

Munchpak mini box review.

I've been watching subscription boxes unboxings for months now. I've been wanting to to subscribe to  few for a long time, but for budget reasons, that hasn't been possible. For Christmas I was sent a visa gift card. With that I was able to get to try  couple of subscription boxes. Earlier this week I subscribed to try Munchpack. You can click on the link on the side bar on the right to check it out and subscribe. . I've been toying with getting this box for a while. Like I always do with shopping. I put a box in the cart, then took it out. Well to try to get me to get a subscription, Munchpak sent me an offer to get the Munchpak mini for 50% off. I couldn't pass that offer up, So I used the little left I had on the gift card and got the box. It shipped really quick. and with the company being in Phoenix, AZ I got it quick, like in a couple days.

Munchpack is a food subscription box. Snacks from all over the world. It come in 3 sizes Munchpak mini 5+ snacks($9.95), Munchpak original 10+ snacks($19.95), and Munchpak family that has 20+ snacks($39.95).Shipping is free. Also you get a choice of you want the box sent once a week,  2 times a month or once a month. I chose once a month. You can also personlize the box if you want. Like if you want more salty snacks or don't want spicy. BUT you get charged $1.00 for every choice you make to personalize the box. They do take all credit cards. and they say they take paypal. but when signing up for the box, I only saw the credit card option. When looking into it, if you give a a gift you can use paypal.

With each box you get a postcard one one side its shows to enter to win a free Familypak by sharing through social media. The other side says who packed the box. My box was packed by Nick, Thank you Nick!

Now for the goodies that are in the box. I did a unboxing video for YouTube but I didn't taste anything on camera. I have a thing where listening to people chew makes me crazy. Its drives me nuts, like fingernails on a chalkboard.  If I'm in a restaurant or if there like TV on or something like that I'm fine.

Ok I'm rambling and going off the trail here. Back to the snacks! I got 6 snacks in the box. I'm going to show the snacks and then take pictures of what they look like and then give my review of them.

First thing I opened form the box was this Choco Pie from Lotte. From looking the brand up to see where they are from, it looks like India. But they have production all over the world.  I've seen these at the 99 cent store, but never got them.

This is is my favorite of the bunch. Its basically a moon pie. the cake is good, though a little dry.and the marshmallow is yummy. I like this one and would buy it if i saw it in the store. Though I need to be watching my carbs. lol

Next up are these Bissli Extreme wheat snacks by Osem. they are from Israel.
I opened the bag and I smell hickory smoke of BBQ. Its not an in your face smell, which is god. As you can see in the picture the wheat snacks are spirals. They are very crunchy. When you fist take a bite you can taste the BBQ, but it slowly goes away once you are halfway chewing. Its not bad. They are tasty. Would I go out and buy them if I see them, probably not.

Another Lotte product is these waffle chips. I'm guess they are called Waffle Mate. At least that's what it says on the box in English. They are from Korea.

I open the box and inside there are 2 pages inside.

There are 3 waffle cookies inside.

They smell  good. Like vanilla. They taste pretty good. I do taste a little bit of coconut.Looking at the ingredients and there  is hydrogenated coconut oil in it. If i saw these in the store I might buy them.

Meet the Beatle! These candies are by....by....well I don't know, because nothing is in English other than beatles. I'm guess this is out of Japan. And if you do a google image search, you get the band. lol

Opening the bag I get a punch of fruit smell.Looks like the flavors from the bag are lemon, grape orange, and green apple. and I was wrong they re not like jelly beans. lol They are like Skittles. Not bad. They aren't super sour. but the lemon one has a bit of tart to it. I'm not a big Skittles fan, so I don't think I'll be buying these. but they taste pretty good.

Bubu Lubu by Ricolin. The one in my box is a strawberry gummy candy and marshmallow with a chocolate flavor coating. Okay The Chocolate flavor has me a little worried. Ths product is from Mexico.

This one is bit off. I don't taste the strawberry. It's okay. its a thick jelly. The chocolate isn't bad. The marshmallow is okay. The aftertaste is good.

No this one has me worried. When I first looked at in the unboxing I didn't look t it too carefully. I did think it would be spicy from the looks on the packaging. Then I saw watermelon so thatfer went away. But When taking pictures for this blog post I looked at it better. This is Hormigas by Indy. Also from Mexico. This is a Watermelon Flavor candy confited with bittersweet and spicy powder.  I don't do spicy. A little spice okay like mild salsa. So when i taste this I will have something creamy near by. lol

okay someone hold me. LOL I opened the package and took a sniff. Don't do that. I got a wiff of some spice in the powder.

there's 7 candies in the bag. I was taking lick of this one. not liking the taste. i love watermelon candy. my favorite being the sour patch kids watermelon. nope not liking this one.

So all in all I like the box. I do wish they had an option where you can get a 3,6, or 12 month payment option like other subscription boxes. they do have that if giving it as a gift.
