After taking the 8 track apart, with the window open, I took a heat gun and melted the plastic that was sticking up on both sides so I can get a smooth on both sides to glue down paper on the edges of the 8-track. I also had to melt it so I could make holes on the one side of the 8 track so i can get binder rings through it. Once side was a little thinner than the other side.
The mini itself I used black Recollections card stock to make the pages. The decorative paper I used was DCWV Glam Rock stack. I had just bought this paper when the Scrappy sisters did this project and I knew this stack would be perfect for it. After the pages were made(used Miracle tape to attack the decorative pages to the cardstock. I took some of my VLVS! stamps and stamped them in various spots in the mini. I also used some of the cutout in the cut out sheet in the mini as well. I used 2 inch binder rings to bind the album together. added some suri silk ribbon to the rings. Yes, the mini doesn't lie flat, but its not meant to be. You can lay it down and have a page standing up for display. It was a fun project. Though not something I would make all the time because of the fumes of the melting of the plastic. LOL

Great upcycle.... LOVE your mini book!!!!
so cool! where do you get your 8 tracks?
I got the 8 track at a thrift store
I'm sure if I looked in enough boxes in my basement I might even find my old 8-track tapes. I know I still have the player! LOL Great mini-book. I love the music theme.
great idea and execution! sometimes I have an idea, but it tanks. We got an 8 track from a friend but no tapes--my husband is sad. I have this feeling we'll find some that are not my taste in music and I'll be forced to listen :)
