September ARC book

This month for the ARC reading challenge I read "A Brisket a Casket" by Delia Rosen. This is the first of the Deadly Deli mystery series.

Gwen is divorced and leaves New York when she inherited her uncle Murray's deli in Nashville. Running the deli is a little harder than she first thought. Her uncle took the recipes and food suppliers to the grave. There is also a real estate developer who has been trying to get his hands on the property even when Murray was alive. On one of the most popular events at the deli Kosher Karaoke Night, one of their long time customers, Buster, eats some brisket that has been poison. While cleaning up and going her uncle's(now her's) office while finding how who poisoned Buster. And at the end of the book there are some recipes. :)

I thought the book was okay. I didn't expect who did it. I would read the next one in the series.
(sorry for the short review.)

My journal page. I did another print transfer(I got to do something else for the next book. LOL) I printed 2 pictures of Manny's Deli in Chicago. (you got to go there!) The one of the restaurant and the Chicago skyline I printed it bigger and did the transfer. Then I glued the smaller picture of it and also one of a corn-beef sandwich, even though the book its brisket, but I like corn-beef. lol

next book I'm reading is Delicious and Suspicious by Riley Adams.

I quite like the idea of a book that gives recipes for the meals mentioned in the story :) but I have to admit I have no idea what brisket is!

I've heard of brisket, but, like Sarah, I'm not sure what it is. I have on the other hand, heard of corned beef.

I actually like transfers, so if you do them every month, I would still appreciate them. Your art was super. And of course, it sounds like a very good mystery.

I enjoyed reading the review, even though it is not one I would read myself, and I like your approach to the artwork. Being a UK WW2 child we pretty well grew up on corned beef, and corned beef sandwiches. I never understood what the 'corned' part was, and in fact still don't!

I like your artwork of the cityscape and hunk of beef! Great colours. Good that you didn't work out who dun' it.

So late getting round to look this month, my daughters wedding in three weeks time is to blame I am afraid. It is always better if you can not work out who did it at least until near the end. Like your review and your art work.
